Bushings and bearings

Most hubs are equipped with radial bearings, which are sensitive to lateral forces. Hubs equipped with clearance adjustment systems are often finely threaded and allow for precise clearance adjustment, but can also generate high axial forces. In this case, the bearings are preloaded too quickly, which leads to damage. Thanks to many years of experience with optimal bearing preload and knowledge of manufacturing tolerances, DT Swiss is able to design durable, play-free hubs without the need to adjust bearing clearance. This hub design also allows for an advantage in terms of light weight as no threading is required and the wall thickness can be reduced. Another benefit is the ease of maintenance and quick conversion to the various freewheel and axle systems. Bearing technology is present in all DT Swiss hubs, both front and rear.
