The performance of the wheels is determined by three factors: aerodynamics, stiffness and weight.
Shimano's new collection of road wheels optimizes the balance of these characteristics for specific applications such as climbing, general performance or high speed scenarios.
Wheels that don't look like any other. One stroke of the pedal, and you're out.

Winning wheel options
Performance and the tools to achieve it are moving targets. Depending on the rider, the course and the conditions, the components required to win can vary greatly. We have devised three characteristic types of winning wheels.
C36
Oriented to climbing
A lightweight model for mountain stages and climbers. Assuming an attack on a mountain stage, we have reduced, not only the total weight, but also the weight of the outer circumference to ensure fast acceleration.
A lightweight model for climbers, designed for a mountain stage where many attacks occur.
The model has been designed with the aim of going faster on the mountain stages. However, in its design process we have avoided blindly reducing the overall weight. Instead, we focused on determining optimal ride stiffness to ensure efficient transfer of pedaling force to ride force and reducing the outer circumference weight, leading to increased acceleration.
Today, many mountain stages have technical descents. The situation of the race usually changes drastically from that descent. The height of 36 mm is the result of the search for a good balance between the elements necessary to go fast. Our aim was not to sacrifice aerodynamics and at the same time to guarantee the necessary level of lateral stiffness so that the rider can easily handle descents, which can reach speeds of up to 100 km / h.
The C36 is a wheel for all cyclists who love mountain biking.
C50
All-rounder
An all-round model that focuses on classic racing with intense ups and downs and solo getaways.
Fast, easy to handle and light. A versatile model that has aerodynamic performance comparable to that of the C60, but can also climb hills with ease with a weight close to that of the C36.
Aimed at racing with intense ups and downs, the model was designed to give drivers an advantage in various situations that are directly related to victory or defeat. These situations include a powerful attack on a short steep incline, a technical descent with many curves and an escape from opponents.
The C50 is the best all-round wheel in Shimano history, our recommendation to all riders.
C60-HR
For powerful, high-speed riders
A model that focuses on the high-speed driving required for situations such as sprints and placement for a sprint, as well as time trial stages.
Many riders who excel on flat roads tend to have higher power output. As this model is designed to be stiffer than the other two models, it can handle those high powers.
A model that focuses on the high-speed driving required for situations like sprinting and setting up for a sprint, as well as high-speed flat stages.
In our pursuit of aerodynamics, we have managed to greatly reduce air resistance.
Meanwhile, testing with a professional team found that many riders who are good at sprinting or flat terrain produce relatively high power and require greater stiffness. To withstand such high power and dynamic body movement and effectively transfer power to driving force, this model has been specifically designed with high stiffness, incorporating different specifications from the other two models.
The C60-HR is the fastest wheel in Shimano history, recommended for sprinters and powerful riders.
Wheels for DURA-ACE C50 tubeless disc brake
The C50, the most versatile of the new DURA-ACE wheel range, is lighter than the previous C40 model and almost as aerodynamic as the previous C60. It's a wheelset that feels right at home in a wide variety of conditions. From time trials to criteriums, on hilly terrain or attempting a personal best, the new C50 is the ideal wheel for energetic road riding.
The perfect combination of low weight and aerodynamic performance, the new DURA-ACE C50 features an updated carbon tubeless rim and a new hub design that reduces weight and improves stiffness.
