Kanzo (or canzo) is a word that goes back to the times of the troubadours, who were the singers and poets of the Middle Ages. People who traveled a lot and lived all kinds of adventures to later turn them into stories about knights, or even love stories. Returning to their village, they narrated their adventures to the inhabitants, and used three genres to tell their stories. The most used was the «Kanzo/Canzo». In doing so, they moved entire communities, the people hanging on every word the troubadours said to them.

Comfortable seats

The rear end of a bike is crucial to both increasing comfort and maximizing power transfer.

For added comfort, the seats connect lower in the seat tube. Due to this lower contact point, both the seat tube and seat post can filter vibrations more effectively. Additionally, chair stands can provide greater vertical flexibility. All this results in a more comfortable ride on the bike.

As for winning watts, the shape of the seats is oval with the widest side on the horizontal axis. This is the key to maximizing power transfer. By placing this wide side horizontally, every watt generated is converted into speed, without losing power on the way to the rear wheel.

Ridley's Essential Carbon

The carbon is manufactured by the world market leader: Toray. The Japanese manufacturer is a leader in all aspects of carbon development and a supplier to world leading brands in many sectors.

For the Essential series, two types of carbon are used: 24T and 30T. However, the Elite series goes one step further and also uses 50T and 60T carbon. By adding these two carbons, combined with a lot of effort, we can get extremely low weight without compromising comfort and stiffness.

The Essential Series benefits directly from carbon molding insights gained through the creation of the Elite Series. This means that the Essential series achieves the same level of stiffness and comfort, although it is slightly heavier thanks to the use of 24T and 30T, which only require more layers compared to 50T and 60T to achieve the desired stiffness.

F-Tubing & F-Surface Plus

How is it possible to drive faster without pedaling harder? How do objects "cut" with the wind? While trying to figure out how to improve aerodynamics, the bicycle industry began to gather insights from the aviation industry. From there, the well-known NACA flight profiles, for the design of wings and other components, began to be applied to the tubes of a bicycle frame.

Upon further investigation, the engineers found many additional potential optimizations. By shortening the end of the NACA profiles (F-tubing), they found that aerodynamic drag was reduced. They have also created a slot in the frame called F-Surface Plus. By applying this technique, an airflow is created that flows more efficiently along the tube.

1x Solo Kanzo Fast

With the development of 12 and 13 speed groupsets, and with new technologies such as Classified, they have been successful in the front derailleur.

Chains have been designed to still have plenty of clearance for 42mm rims. As extensive wind tunnel testing shows, the removal of the front derailleur also had a big effect on aerodynamics.

Kanzo Fast tubes

The Kanzo Fast integrates many great technologies, such as F-Tubes, F-Wings, Lower Seat Posts, D-Shape Post, Kanzo Aero Gravel Handlebar and 1x Only.

Another remarkable feature is its perfect integration of the fork and handlebar with the frame.

Most developers thoroughly check the aerodynamics of each part, but forget to test the bike as a whole. On the contrary, its testing method ensures that every aspect of the bike is tested, as well as the perfect integration of all essential components.

Plus, the huge bottom bracket and drop chains play a big part in converting every watt into top speed. You will notice it from the first pedal stroke, especially when you pick up speed again after each turn.

Kanzo Fast Aero Handlebar

In the Kanzo Fast gravel bar, the engineers combined their knowledge of the Noah Fast integrated bar with the unique features of a gravel bar. Needless to say, round tubes were never considered, as they cause a strong anti-aerodynamic pressure drop. And a lot of effort was put into avoiding that flat, angular feel that makes pedaling off-road painful.

This created the ideal gravel handlebar, with unprecedented levels of responsiveness and aerodynamics.

Its new carbon composition absorbs more vibrations, which makes the handlebar even more comfortable. They also added more angle to the drops and have reduced both the drop and reach to allow for quick changes in hand position

Drop: 120mm

Reach: 70mm

Bend Angle: 16°

Kanzo Fast Geometry

Ridley released its first gravel bike in 2016. And so the European gravel market was born. Therefore, the geometry of the Kanzo Fast is the result of five years of focused research and evolution.

Although Gravel Geometry has evolved, its essence remains the same: "off-road confidence." To help provide this strong feeling of stability, it features a lower bottom bracket and a slightly more "open" fork angle.

The Kanzo Fast has a 22mm more stack than the Noah Fast (in all sizes). Although its geometry is still very aerodynamic, this additional height allows for a slightly more comfortable overall position and a much more comfortable position during falls.

Also, thanks to its comfort, it has a shorter reach of 5-9mm (XS-XL) compared to the Noah Fast.

f-wings

At the bottom of the bike fork are small aerodynamic wings, hence the name F-Wings.

Engineers developed these fairings after extensive wind tunnel testing, where they noted that the hub and its connection to the fork caused turbulence. These F-Wings fairings ensure that turbulent airflow flows smoothly again.

F-Wings are comparable to modern airplane wings, which are also called "broken wings" because their tips fold up. The tips allow aircraft to save a lot of fuel, because the turbulent air behind the wings is significantly reduced. See how the F-W
