CeramicSpeed ​​BB86 cups for Shimano fit BB86 frames when you have the CeramicSpeed ​​bottom bracket installed. The kit consists of two cups that are pressed on both sides of the central opening. Cups come with CeramicSpeed ​​bearings installed. There are two versions. The first is the standard low resistance, long life bearings, with hardened steel races and the super round CeramicSpeed ​​Balls. The second version is the coated bearings, which uses those same CeramicSpeed ​​balls installed in hardened steel coated races for longer life and less rolling resistance. This CeramicSpeed ​​BB86 bottom bracket works with cranks that have 24mm thru axles, including Shimano and FSA.

Standard CeramicSpeed ​​bearings typically have a friction drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That represents an average drag reduction of 75% compared to standard brackets. The hardened steel races feature CeramicSpeed ​​balls that are 100% softer and 15% harder than competitive ceramic. CeramicSpeed ​​bearings last at least three times longer than other bearings. Coated bearings further reduce friction and increase service life. Coated races see a 50% reduction in drag and a 60% improvement in bearing life. Changing the grease can adjust performance. All Round Grease comes installed, but can be swapped out for a lower drag TT and tracking grease, or longer-lasting LongLife grease, which adds a bit of drag but stays in when riding in messy conditions.
